Bomb threat at Boeing
A bomb threat at a Boeing subsidiary company appeared to be a hoax Dec. 4.
The man who called in the threat was likely a disgruntled customer, said Renton Police Department Commander Paul Cline.
Boeing Capital Corporation offers customer service to several states.
“We get a fair share of these types of calls,” he said. “It’s not common, but it’s not unusual.”
Using expletives, the man who called said the building is going to blow up and people might want to get out, said Cline.
Police traced the call to a pre-paid phone and checked the premises.
There haven’t been any more calls to the secure building at 500 Naches Ave. S.W., Renton.
The following information was compiled from City of Renton police reports:
Man arrested for DUI
A man in his 50s was arrested for driving under the influence after police could smell the alcohol on his breath from three feet away, according to the Renton Police Department.
Witnesses reported the man after seeing him stop at a green light and then park at 1408 Bronson Way N., Renton.
One witness saw the man pull oil from his trunk and pour it on the car battery of his green Mazda.
The man failed both the physical and breathalyzer test Nov. 26.
After arresting the man, police discovered his license was suspended for a previous DUI.
