A 17-year-old boy plead not guilty Monday to accusations that he shot and almost killed a man in Renton.
Jalen Christopher Day was charged along with Ellis Cameron for first degree assault, said Dan Donohoe, a spokesman for the King County Prosecutor’s Office.
Cameron was arrested over the weekend and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, he said.
Prosecutors allege the two shot at five men, after they declined to give the two boys money, according to the charging papers.
A 39-year-old man was shot under his right arm and taken to Harborview Medical Center, July 18.
The man died and was brought back to life, according to the papers.
He is expected to survive.
The boys didn’t warn the men that they were going to shoot, and Day told police he only meant to scare them, according to the papers.
If convicted, Day’s sentencing could be about 13-15 years in prison, Donohoe said.
