Car shot at on I-405 in Renton

Washington State Patrol Says the suspect is described as a white male in their 20s with shaggy hair.

After passing a vehicle on Interstate 405 in Renton, a victim was shot at, sustaining no injuries, but their car was damaged.

On Jan. 1, a press release from Washington State Patrol stated that on Dec. 29, at about 7:40 p.m., they received a 911 call from a victim stating that they had been shot at while driving on I-405. The release states that the victim was traveling northbound on I-405 approaching State Route 169 when, after passing a vehicle, the suspect sped up and, as they passed the victim, fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle.

The release states that the suspect’s vehicle was described as a silver Ford Crown Victoria. Additionally, the suspect was described as a white male in his20s with shaggy hair who was wearing a black hoodie.

The release states that the victim was not injured, but their vehicle, a BMW X1, sustained damage to the left rear door and window. Following the shooting, the suspect continued traveling northbound on I-405.

WSP detectives are seeking anyone who may have seen the suspect’s vehicle fleeing the location or who might have more information on the shooting. They ask people to contact Detective Judah Bergeron at judah.bergeron@wsp.wa.gov.

”As of right now we have no updates,” WSP Public Information Officer Rick Johnson said on Jan. 2. “Hoping that someone saw or knows about the Crown Vic.”
