CISR recognizes four Renton auto dealers

Communities in Schools of Renton (CISR) has recognized four major Renton car dealers for outstanding commitment to the welfare and success of Renton students through their support of CISR.

Communities in Schools of Renton (CISR) has recognized four major Renton car dealers for outstanding commitment to the welfare and success of Renton students through their support of CISR.

Communities in Schools of Renton connects Renton’s most vulnerable students and their families with community resources and services, academic assistance and adult mentors.

Last year four Renton-based dealerships, including Walker Subaru, Walker Mazda, Bob Bridge Toyota and Scion and Sound Ford, donated nearly $25,000 to CISR programs which support more than 6,000 students and families in the Renton School District. “Renton auto dealers have provided incredible support to CISR for several years,” said Sue Paro, executive director of CISR.  “They care about the kids of this community and they understand the importance of every student having the opportunity to succeed in school.”

CISR established the Renton Auto Dealers for Kids Award to publicly recognize the auto dealers “for their exceptional support which has empowered hundreds of Renton kids to stay in school,” she said.

Paro also pointed out that Renton auto dealers also donate personal time and resources to do everything from promoting school supply drives to serving as vocal advocates for the benefit of students served by CISR.

“Nothing opens as many doors as education. I believe that the stronger the education we provide to our youth today, the fewer of today’s societal issues we will face tomorrow…if you want a strong, healthy community and local economy, invest in education,” said Dale Walker, one of the auto dealers CISR recognized.
