For the second year in a row, Renton’s City Attorney Larry Warren has been included in a distinguished group of Washington lawyers, known as a Super Lawyer, in the June 2008 issue of Washington Law & Politics magazine.

The 2008 Super Lawyer list was based on surveys mailed to more than 17,000 active lawyers in Washington who were asked to nominate the best attorneys they’ve personally observed in action. A multi-step selection process was used, including a system of balloting, an evaluation of the candidates by Law & Politics research department and a peer evaluation.

Those who make the cut are among the top one percent of the state’s lawyers.

Warren said he felt “deeply honored” by the selection.

“Over the years, I have been privileged to work with the finest staff of lawyers and law enforcement professionals imaginable. They, too, must share in this distinction,” said Warren.

Warren is a senior partner in the law firm of Warren, Barber & Fontes, P.S. He has served as Renton’s city attorney for 30 years. He was lead counsel in Renton v. Playtime Theatres, resulting in a landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court.
