City of Renton seeks candidates for Airport Advisory Committee

The purpose of RAAC is to provide a forum for members of the community to discuss issues related to the airport directly with airport operators and to seek collaborative problem solving and resolution.

The City of Renton is seeking candidates for positions on the Renton Airport Advisory Committee (RAAC). New RAAC members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council to serve a three-year term.  Members serve without compensation and must reside within the city limits of Renton.

The purpose of RAAC is to provide a forum for members of the community to discuss issues related to the airport directly with airport operators and to seek collaborative problem solving and resolution.  The committee meets quarterly on the second Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Renton Municipal Airport.  Meeting minutes can be found here.

The committee is composed of 27 primary and alternate members representing neighborhoods, airport tenants and airport users. The city is specifically seeking members from the following neighborhoods to fill existing vacancies for the alternate member positions:

• Highlands Neighborhood

• South Renton Neighborhood

• West Hill Neighborhood

• Renton Hill/Monterey Terrace Neighborhood
