Final details for the Renton River Days are coming together, as organizers continue to see support for the 24-year-old festival.
“The phone calls start Jan. 1, and they just don’t stop,” said community relations specialist Sonja Mejlaender.
Organizers are expecting about 40,000 visitors to come to the multi-day event.
“It’s very likely we’ll see increased attendance, because of the economy and because people are staying closer to home,” she said.
The events start Wednesday, July 22 with Kid’s Day at Liberty Park and will continue through the weekend, July 24-26.
“We’re really proud of the lineup of features,” Mejlaender said.
Back-to-back music entertainment is scheduled for two stages, along with several art shows and the Nibble of Renton, which includes food from local chefs.
