Community celebrates opening of women’s, children’s shelter

Renton City Hall was the site of the ribbon-cutting Friday afternoon for the new REACH Center of Hope, a shelter for homeless women and children.

Members of Renton Ecumenical Association of Churches (REACH), City of Renton officials, volunteers and community members celebrated the opening of the new center that will receive its first family May 28.

The new shelter is located in the basement of City Hall.
