Alajawan’s Fourth Annual Community Family Reunion is 6:01 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, in Skyway.
The reunion marks the date and exact time in 2010 that 12-year-old Alajawan Brown was killed by a gunshot wound to the back in the parking lot of the 7-11 store on Martin Luther King Jr. Way on West Hill.
His killer, Curtis John Walker, was sentenced at age 36 to 50 years in prison in March 2012.
Alajawan’s parents, Ayanna and Louis, have put on the reunion for the community.
This year the reunion is at Grocery Outlet, 11656 68th Ave. S., on West Hill.
There will be free food, music and raffles. Shirts are available online to help raise donations for the Alajawan Brown Foundation that helps children with backpacks, school supplies and athletic scholarships.
