Today, ground was broken and construction has begun on a new state-of-the-art golf entertainment facility near The Landing in Renton.
The Topgolf facility at 780 Logan Ave. N. will be a driving range arcade-like entertainment center meant to serve the entire Seattle-Puget Sound Region.
Getting the project started has been a “long road coming,” according to Topgolf Director Of Real Estate Development, Tanner Micheli who worked with city planners and officials to get to the point of initial construction.
After years of planning and design, Micheli said “there were times [they] weren’t quite sure [they] were gonna get this thing done.”
He said the design process for the facility utilized many iterations and redesigns but compromised that this Topgolf facility will be the first of its kind.
According to the Topgolf website the Renton facility will include climate-controlled hitting bays, full service restaurants and bars, a rooptop terrace with a firepit, and private meeting spaces.
Renton Mayor Armondo Pavone, said this project represents a symbolic post-pandemic “rebirth,” for the community as it continues to grow and adds amenities for the entire Puget Sound region.
Construction is expected to be completed in a year.
