The results are expected sometime tonight as some 23,000 members of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) were voting on a new contract with Boeing.
The results will be posted on SPEEA’s website with the tabulating is done.
The union leadership had recommended a no vote. Negotiations were already scheduled to resume Tuesday, regardless of the vote outcome. The leadership wants a strong no vote to show Boeing that its membership is behind it in the negotiations, say union leaders.
The counting began at about 5 p.m. Monday at SPEEA’s heaquarters in Tukwila. SPEEA represents Boeing engineers and techical workers in the Puget Sound region.
