Although John Springer didn’t live in Renton, he was a well-known figure around town. He died unexpectedly recently at his home in Covington.
He had visited Renton almost daily since he took a job in Seattle in 1976, he told a reporter for the Renton Reporter in 2008.
The story was about Springer’s own brand of business card. He was looking for a wife. The photo showed him dancing with his fiancee, Linda Woo, at the senior center.
He was the “dancing cowboy” at the Farmers Market.
A funeral was held in Auburn on Thursday. He was buried at Tahoma National Cemetery.
