Deadline to sign up for free exam in Renton is today (Thursday)

Free eye exams will be given at Valley Eye and Laser Center in Renton on Friday, April 20, for low-income and unemployed people in the area.

The address for Valley Eye and Laser Center is 4011 Talbot Road S., No. 210.

The free exams are being coordinated by Renton Lions Club and a half dozen other South King County Lions Clubs are also participating. There are still appointments available and those needing a free eye exam should call Cornelia Clark with the Renton Lions Club at 425-282-0487 before 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 19.

According to Cornelia Clark who coordinates the vision program for the Renton Lions Club, “For nearly 100 years the Lions Club has worked on projects to improve eye care and we hope to have free eye exams at Valley Eye and Laser Center an annual event to help people locally.”

Dr. Paul Joos of Valley Eye and Laser Center said “We are working with the Lions Club to perform free exams because we believe proper eye care is very important and we are committed to helping our community in these tough economic times.”
