Draper Valley is based in Mount Vernon and produces free-range, hormone-free chicken.

Spokesman Joe Forsthoffer said Coleman Natural Foods purchased Draper Valley about three years ago and the current lease in the Renton facility is running out.

The company is currently moving product back and forth between Renton and Mount Vernon and a new facility became available very close to the processing plant in Mount Vernon.

Forsthoffer said the new facility will hire roughly the same amount of people back.

“There’s a huge economic advantage,” Forsthoffer said of the new location. “We are hoping as many people as possible from the Renton facility will decide to go with us to Mount Vernon.”

Draper Valley Farms was founded in 1935 and has farms through Washington and Oregon.
