A drunken Renton man attempted to strangle his girlfriend, after they got into a fight about his drinking, according to the Renton Police Department.
He shouted, “I can take you out.”
Afraid that she would die, the girl wrapped her hands around his throat until he stopped trying to strangle her.
He then barricaded the front door with furniture and passed out on her bed, according to police.
The girlfriend was fine, being choked for less than a minute.
She slipped outside around 6:30 a.m. and called police to the 3000 block of Northeast 15th Street.
Police arrested the man on the scene. He told them the girlfriend hit him with a stick and his brain was bleeding. He appeared fine.
After arriving at the jail, staff sent him to the Valley Medical Center to be treated for diabetes.
