The EriAm sisters and a mother of three with a comedic bent will help launch Valley Medical Center’s new health and wellness program for women.
The GLOW Women’s Wellness Initiative begins this fall and is designed to empower women to make healthy decisions for themselves and their families.
The program will cater to the body, mind and spirit with massage, yoga, teas and health and wellness information.
“We will focus on health and wellness for women and their families,” said Liz Nolan, the medical center’s marketing director who developed the program.
Nolan has national experience setting up such wellness program’s for women, which is also a priority of hospital CEO Rich Roodman, she said.
The initiative is modeled after the medical center’s successful GoldenCare program for those 62 and older, which is marking its 25th anniversary, she said.
The program is membership-based and is open to women 18 and older.
GLOW begins with the GLOW Kickoff Celebration Sept. 30 at the ShoWare Center in Kent. Registration is required; tickets are $20 each or $180 for a table of 10.
The featured speaker is Juliet Funt, comedian, author, mother of three. She’s the daughter of Allen Funt, creator of the “Candid Camera” television show.
The kickoff also will include GLOW Health & Partner Fair, a dinner and give-aways and door prizes.
