The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for our area for tomorrow afternoon through Friday.
The watch begins at noon Thursday and extends to 6 p.m. Friday as significant rainfall is expected throughout the region. Tomorrow’s storm could bring several inches of rain, including up to four inches in the Cascades.
Thunderstorms on Thursday could produce rain rates of an inch or more in one hour.
The potentially excessive rainfall could also lead to urban and small stream flooding as a short period of intense rain could overwhelm storm drains leading to flooded roadways.
A flood watch means conditions are favorable but flooding is not imminent or occurring. If conditions change, a warning may be issued.
