Grants available to arts, cultural organizations through Renton arts commission

The Renton Municipal Arts Commission has money available for the Renton arts and cultural community through the 2011 Arts Grant Program.

The program supports projects that help implement Renton’s Arts and Culture Master Plan, adopted by the Renton City Council in August 2010. The plan can be viewed online at the Renton website, rentonwa.gov.

The Arts Commission anticipates awarding approximately $6,000 for the 2011 Arts Grant Program. Artists and organizations promoting art within the Renton School District boundaries can apply for funding.

Applications are due Friday, Feb. 18. Grants awards will be announced by March 11, and projects must be completed by Nov. 30. For more information and an application, visit ArtsCommission.rentonwa.gov and click on Arts Grant Program, or contact 425-430-6582 or arts@rentonwa.gov.
