A “fender-bender” involving a motorcyclist and a car has been cleared from the southbound lanes of I-405 near Sunset Boulevard in Renton, but the backup extends about eight miles into downtown Bellevue, according to the Washington State Patrol and the state Department of Transportation.

The two left-hand lanes were cleared about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. The accident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital as a precaution, according to the state patrol.
