KCLS getting ready for Take Time to Read campaign

As part of the King County Library System’s “Take Time to Read” campaign, Book Cover Walking Tour posters were installed in Renton Monday and in seven other local cities.

The tour consists of 20 book jacket posters around Renton, representing books for readers of all ages.

Some of the book titles appearing around town include “Runaway Ralph” by Beverly Cleary, “Scones and Sensibility” by Lindsay Eland, “Little Bee” by Chris Cleave and “The Black Swan” by Mercedes Lackey, among other titles.

The display will be accompanied by a dial-in audio Book Cover Tour available by March 1 at 425-507-0429. The extension will be listed by each book cover title and can be accessed by dialing the number and entering the extension number. Renton’s book cover extensions range from 701 through 720.

“Generally, the program is designed to raise visibility and awareness of reading as an important activity, and to make it easy to find interesting things to read,” said Marsha Iverson, KCLS public relations specialist.

Other cities included in the walking tour are Burien, Bellevue, Issaquah, Kent, Kirkland, Mercer Island and Vashon.
