A 21-year-old Kent man was arrested Thursday afternoon in the robbery of a Renton bank Aug. 23, according to the Renton Police Department.
Members of the Renton Police Department’s Special Enforcement and Directed Enforcement Teams arrested the man near his home in Kent without incident, according to Renton Police Detective Robert Onishi.
The suspect remains in custody and the case has been forwarded to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The suspect walked into the US Bank branch in downtown Renton at about 3 p.m. on Aug. 23 and after a few minutes handed a note to a teller, demanding money and claiming to be armed, according to Renton Police.
The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of cash from her till, and robber fled the bank on foot, according to Renton Police.
Renton detectives identified the suspect using forensic evidence and followup investigation.
