Renton School Board honored Lindbergh High School’s 12 Outstanding Seniors at a meeting Wednesday.
Lindbergh Principal Tres Genger introduced the 12 students as those who have demonstrated outstanding effort and accomplishments in community service, academics, fine arts and athletics.
Students were selected based on their academic achievement, leadership, co-curricular involvement, citizenship and character, community service and contributions to school.
Students spoke briefly during the presentation about what made them successful in school and motivated them in their personal lives.
They recognized their parents, acknowledged friendships and honored teachers who were instrumental in their personal success.
Lindbergh High School’s 12 Outstanding Seniors are Dalia Amin, Marcus Ramirez, Ashley Goodwin, Donelyn Rollolazo, Mercy Hoang-Nguyen, Keaton Schmidt, Kyle House, Ngan Van, Matthew Lemke, Shalene Waterer, Alaska McGann and Constant Zhang.
Teachers recognized by students as “most inspirational” are Helen Bedtelyon, Sally Boni (Talbot Hill Elementary School), Katelyn Hubert, Ashley Lauren, Joanne Peterson, Jef Rettmann, Larry Richter, Yetta Rouse and Amarou Yoder.
Other Renton high schools will recognize outstanding seniors at school board meetings in May and June.
