The city of Renton, RAAP and RPD organized the second Unity March on Sept. 28.

On Sept. 28, city leaders, government officials, local clergy, students and community members gathered at Piazza Park, then marched around downtown Renton to declare the message of unity.
The march was organized by the city of Renton, Renton Police Department and Renton African American Pastors group in an effort to promote racial unity within the city.
To meet a $15 million budget shortfall, all librarians from the district’s middle schools and high schools will not return for the 2025-2026 school year.
