Logan Avenue re-opens; City launches new ‘traffic impacts’ section on website

Throughout the summer, the city of Renton is working on several road projects around the city, resulting in partial and full closures to some roads on a near daily basis.

Workers completed construction on Logan Avenue North this past week and opened the road to traffic a full week ahead of schedule.

According to city officials, the project also came in slightly under budget.

Along with repaving the North Renton arterial, workers realigned the intersection at North Third Street so it would line up with the exit of Renton Memorial Stadium, making it easier for event goers to make their way east.

But though Logan Avenue is nearly complete, the city of Renton is working on several other road projects around the city, resulting in partial and full closures to some roads on a near daily basis.

Though the city administrator usually gives a report at each council meeting detailing several of the week’s closures, finding a full list of all of the road construction around the city has been difficult.

Until now, that is.

The city this week launched a new feature on its website detailing all of the traffic impacts for the week. This week’s list includes work on South 2nd and Main, Southwest 41st Street, East Valley Highway, Naches Avenue Southwest and Talbot Road South, among others.
