A 19-year-old man died in Renton on May 18 as a result of an overnight shooting.
According to the Renton Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Airport Way just before 10 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
Upon arrival, police located the 19-year-old man in his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately performed lifesaving measures until medical aid arrived. The 19-year-old man died at the scene.
According to the department, officers located a second victim in the investigation who had been physically assaulted. The victim stated to officers a group of men ranging in age from 25 to 50 years old had assaulted him.
The victim stated the group attacked him in the parking lot, and as he fled into a business, he heard the shooting. The victim stated he never witnessed the shooting visually. All suspects left the scene prior to the arrival of officers. Investigation of the incident continued through the night, including witness interviews and collection of evidence, according to the department.
