A single-vehicle accident resulted in the death of a 37-year-old man in Renton on Saturday, March 18.
Renton police were dispatched to reports of a vehicle flipped on the roadway and a motionless man lying on the ground at 8:56 a.m. in the 2000 block of Southwest Sunset Boulevard.
Officers arrived on scene and confirmed the reports. According to the department, evidence suggests the accident resulted in ejection of the man from the vehicle. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.
“Excessive speed appears to be a factor,” said Cyndie Morris, public information officer for the department.
The collision resulted in temporary roadway closures as traffic detectives worked to clear the scene, with westbound traffic closed on South 80th Street and eastbound traffic closed on South 135th Street.
