After searching for a suspected kidnapping victim, Renton Police are reporting that the man they believed to have been taken from a local apartment complex was found with a gunshot wound in Des Moines.
At 7:16 p.m. on the evening of Aug. 20, Renton Police received a 911 call, reporting a possible kidnapping at an apartment building in North Renton.
According to police, the caller told dispatchers that they had seen multiple suspects put a struggling male into a vehicle in the apartment’s parking garage before the vehicle fled.
Responding officers reportedly found evidence of a struggle there, and were able to determine that the missing male was an apartment resident, 26-year-old Gouled Ali.
At about 1:18 p.m. on Aug. 22, police were made aware that Gouled Ali knocked on the door of a stranger’s Des Moines apartment.
Ali reportedly told the resident that he had been kidnapped and shot in the arm. He was then transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound that appeared to have been inflicted previously, based on dried blood around it, according to police.
Detectives say they are currently interviewing Ali, and police say more updates may be put out on the situation as they learn more about what happened to him.
