Man killed in motorcycle/truck collision on Monster Road in Renton

A man about 40 years old was killed Friday afternoon when his motorcycle and a truck collided on Monster Road.

A man about 40 years old was killed Friday afternoon when his motorcycle and a truck collided on Monster Road in southwest Renton.

His name was not immediately available.

The accident at about 4 p.m. closed Monster Road between Southwest Seventh Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way for several  hours.  Medics attempted to revive the man, but he died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

There was no indication Friday evening that drugs, alcohol, or excessive speed were factors in the accident, according to the Renton Police Department.

Witnesses to the collision who have not yet spoken with police are asked to contact the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500, and refer to case 11-9124.

Monster Road is a commuter bypass route often used to avoid going through downtown Renton.
