Police arrested a King County man who allegedly held up five espresso stands, including one in Renton, by using the ping on his cell phone.
A woman from the Bothell robbery identified 26-year-old Jack Daniel Keeler from surveillance footage of the Big Foot Java robbery at 1408 Bronson Way N. in Renton, according to court documents.
“His actions are desperate and intimidating to the female victims whom he targets, and he poses an extreme risk to the community,” according to court documents.
After identifying the suspect, police worked with Nextel to locate Keeler’s cell phone, leading them to the 3700 block of 132nd Avenue Southeast in Bellevue.
Police identified and arrested Keeler Aug. 20 as he approached his Chevy Cobalt, which was parked outside the Homestead Suites Hotel.
After searching the car, police found a black hand BB gun look-a-like in Keeler’s car, which he used to holdup the espresso stands, according to the documents.
Keeler admitted to police that he robbed the five espresso stands, according to the document.
He was charged of first degree robbery Aug. 25, and is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 8.
Bail was set at $50,000, but then increased to $150,000, because he also had pending cases for possession of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Keeler is a known drug addict and a transient, according to the documents.
“Given the lack of a stable residence, his two outstanding warrants and his drug history, he is not likely to appear for court,” according to the documents.
The state anticipates filing at least 4 additional counts of first-degree robbery against the suspect.
