Memorial Day ceremony begins at 1 p.m. Monday

A ceremonial wreath honoring the five branches of military service will be presented at the memorial, and an Honor Guard, playing of taps, and singing of a patriotic song will conclude the ceremony.

The City of Renton and the Frank R. Vaise VFW Post No. 1263 will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday at Veterans Memorial Park.

The program is coordinated by the Post and includes an invocation by the local chaplain of the Fred Hancock American Legion Post #19 (VFW Post #1263), presentation of colors, and a rendition of the National Anthem.

The park is located at 523 S. Third St.  Parking is available at the 200 Mill Building. Renton History Museum will also be open from noon to 3 p.m.
