Attempted carjacking
On Oct. 21 at approximately 12:09 a.m., Renton officers responded to an attempted carjacking in the 1400 block of South Puget Drive. The victim reported that a vehicle followed him to his parking spot and as he entered his residence, then a passenger from the vehicle aimed a gun at him and demanded his car keys, according to the Renton Police Department. The victim rushed into his residence and called 911. The suspects and suspect vehicle left the scene prior to police arrival.
Shooting
On Oct. 17 at approximately 9:20 p.m., Renton officers responded to a shooting in the 10900 block of Southeast 172nd Street. The officers located multiple shell casings at the scene. As they collected evidence and conducted an investigation of the incident, two men approached the officers and one stated that gunfire struck his vehicle. The victim stated a masked man with a gun approached his vehicle. The victim recognized the weapon and fled the area when the suspect fired his weapon, striking the victim’s vehicle. The victim escaped the incident without injury, according to the department.
Armed carjacking
On Oct. 20 at approximately 1:09 a.m., officers responded to an armed carjacking in the 2500 block of East Valley Road. The victim stated that two suspects approached and demanded his car keys as he entered his vehicle. He handed the suspects his keys and they fled in his vehicle. No injuries resulted from the incident, according to the department.
Armed robbery
On Oct. 20 at approximately 12:39 a.m., Renton officers responded to a call where the victim stated two armed men approached her in the parking lot in the 1800 block of East Valley Road. One suspect ordered the woman to raise her hands in the air prior to the woman fleeing into a business uninjured. The suspects left the scene prior to police arrival.
Carjacking and pursuit
On Oct. 21 at approximately 12:12 a.m., Renton officers responded to a carjacking in the 300 block of Cedar Avenue South. The victims advised officers that two armed men approached them as they entered their residence and demanded their money and car keys. The victims complied and the suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle and a second vehicle. As the victims completed their statements to police, the Kent Police Department advised that they had located both vehicles. The suspect ran from the stolen vehicle and the other vehicle was lost in a pursuit, according to the department. None of the five victims suffered any injuries in the incident.
