More than 900 in Fairwood still without power following Monday accident

According to the Renton Fire Department, a single-car accident just before noon at 151st Avenue Southeast and Petrovisky Road took down a power pole, leaving live wires in the roadway.

More than 900 residents of the Fairwood neighborhood were still without power after 3 p.m. following a one-car accident earlier Monday.

The driver of the car was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

According to a spokesperson from Puget Sound Energy, the accident cut power to approximately 1,700 customers in Fairwood. By 3 p.m., power had been restored to nearly half of the residents, though 915 customers were still without power.

Investigators are still determining the cause of the accident.

Fire crews have established a detour around the site during the investigation and clean-up.
