Motorcycle rider, 36, dies in crash in unincorporated area near Renton

A 36-year-old woman died in unincorporated Renton on July 19 in a motorcycle accident.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Chantel Michelle Morin, 36, died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries suffered in an accident in the roadway.

The King County Sheriff’s Office served as the investigating agency in the incident.

According to Eric White, public information officer for the King County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s office deputies and medical personnel responded at approximately 6:30 p.m. July 19 to the 18600 block of Southeast 128th Street for a single motorcycle accident at the location.

Deputies and medical responders provided lifesaving medical efforts to Morin at the scene prior to her death as a result of injuries received in the accident. Medical responders pronounced her deceased at the scene.

The King County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Accident Response and Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the collision.

Several witnesses to the accident stopped to assist and provided observations and accounts to investigators.

According to White’s email, investigation into the accident continues.

“As this is an active investigation the cause of the accident or what led up to it is still under investigation,” White stated.
