A Renton man discovered mysterious items along the road on Feb. 6.

Police met the man near the intersection of Northeast Second Street and Nile Avenue Northeast after he reported suspicious circumstances.

The 46-year-old man said he was driving home when he saw several dollar bills blowing around on the street.

He discovered a glass plate with two eggs, an unknown plant, grains of white rice, several pennies and an unknown hard, white, rock candy-like substance near a bush. He also found five to six dollar bills folded up in different configurations and cigarettes.

Police investigated and also found men’s dress shoes and female slippers.

Inside the dollar bills police found hair and fingernails.

They didn’t know if the items were a part of a shrine or evidence left behind of a crime.

All of the items were placed in evidence.

 

Urination assault

A 13-year-old faced possible charges of assault for urinating on other children on Feb. 6.

Police were called to a residence on Northeast Ninth Street at about 7:50 p.m.

A father reported that his son and grandson, both 9-years-old, were urinated on by a 13-year-old boy.

The children were on the playground of a nearby church and the two boys returned home with soaked clothing.

When police confronted the older boy, he said the other boys had spit on him first.

Police forwarded the case to the King County Superior Court Juvenile Division for review and possible charges of fourth-degree assault.

 

Pellets strike cafe

The Liberty Cafe was hit by pellets from a BB gun in a drive-by shooting on Feb. 5.

A witness was sitting outside of the cafe just before 1 p.m. An older model, black Honda drove by and the driver shot at the cafe with a BB gun.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The witness jumped on his bicycle and followed the suspect to Park Avenue North and North Second Street but eventually lost him.

He describes the suspect as a Hispanic male, late teens to early twenties with a thin build.

The BB gun attack left a 1-inch diameter hole in the window of the cafe.

 

Homeless man beaten

A 63-year-old homeless man was beat up and possibly robbed on Feb. 4.

Police responded to the assault that occurred near 300 Morris Ave. S. at about 4:45 p.m.

Police found fire department staff at the scene providing aid to the man, who was bloody and scraped.

The man was highly inebriated and uncooperative.

Police could not get a suspect description or explanation of the incident from the man.

It was thought that the man’s jaw was fractured.

He was transported to Valley Medical Center for treatment.

 

Child freed at car wash

Police freed a child and keys from a locked car on Feb. 4.

A hysterical 37-year-old woman reported that she had locked her 1-year-old son and her keys in her car at a car wash at about 12:30 p.m. at 3123 N.E. Sunset Blvd.

After several attempts to unlock the car, police shattered a passenger window.

The boy was uninjured and the woman expressed her gratitude.
