Two natural yard care classes — "Edibles in the Landscape" and "Mighty Arthropods for Kids" — are scheduled for Sept. 17 at Highlands Neighborhood Center.

Edibles in the Landscape

Is your garden shaded by buildings or mature trees? Not sure whether your space is suitable for edibles? The Garden Hotline’s Educator Laura Matter will share ideas for integrating edible plants into your landscape. Topics include proper site assessment, plant placement and plant care to help your edibles thrive.

Fascinating bugs can be found in all gardens and backyard environments. Learn what characteristics arthropods share at this class for kids 6-10. Explore how spiders, pillbugs, centipedes, ladybugs and aphids live and grow. Afterwards, head to the gym for fun activities.
