I’ve lived in Renton since 1990. Back then I went to a Renton Library Board meeting and requested Renton join the KCLS because I couldn’t find much of the material I wanted in our Renton Library. Here it is 20 years later, things haven’t changed and we’re just getting around to putting joining the KCLS on the ballot.
I recently checked on some books for a book club I belong to and while KCLS had more than eight copies of all six books our group wanted to read, Renton had only one copy of only three of the six books in their system. This is an example of why I have had to use the friendly and helpful KCLS system almost exclusively.
If Renton truly wants to be “Ahead of the Curve,” we need to join the KCLS and get our heads out of the sand. Vote YES for Proposition 1 on Feb. 9.
