Nominations to recognize three outstanding Renton citizens for 2009 are being accepted through Sept. 18.

Annually, two Outstanding Citizens and a Citizen of the Year are recognized for their efforts to make the Renton community a great place to live, work, play and learn. Last year’s Citizen of the Year was Norma Cugini.

Renton’s Outstanding Citizens program is sponsored by the Renton Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Renton and the City of Renton.

Representatives from the sponsors and past winners will select the two Outstanding Citizens. The Citizen of the Year is selected using those nominations, plus the recommendations from the committee.
