Old Renton Book Exchange to host holiday event December 22

The Old Renton Book Exchange is hosting a holiday party and story time, while also trying to collect books for families in need.

The Old Renton Book Exchange is hosting a holiday party and story time, while also trying to collect books for families in need.

From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., December 22, shop staff will host a snowflake-making session, serve holiday treats and read from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Seuss and “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

The event is free and also features special sales. Throughout the month of December, the Old Renton Book Exchange has been collecting books for their Children’s Book Drive.

The goal is to collect at least 300 children’s and young adult books, said Dacia Hanson, store manager via email.

The books will be distributed by Renton Area Youth and Family Services at their holiday breakfast on Saturday, December 22.The store is matching every book donated with a donation from the store.
