The following information was compiled from City of Renton police reports:
The reported victim of a knife fight Jan. 10 at the No Bull Saloon on Sunset Boulevard Northeast was arrested after police discovered he had an outstanding felony warrant.
A responding officer witnessed the suspect leaving the bar on foot and saw a group of people pointing to the suspect saying “Stop him.”
The officer called for him to stop, but he refused and put his hands in his pockets. The officer drew his gun and told him to “stop and take his hands out of his pockets.”
After some difficulty police officers handcuffed the suspect and arrested him for obstructing police.
Initially the victim, which didn’t complain of pain, wanted to press charges and write a statement but changed his mind.
However, police already identified him.
There wasn’t any room in the Renton Jail, so the officer took him to King County Jail, where he was booked.
Employee gives chase
An employee chased down a thief and wrestled with him in the Hollywood Video parking lot, before the suspect fled on foot Jan. 6.
The suspect grabbed five packs of cigarettes, before fleeing out the door on the 17600 block of 108th Avenue Southeast.
After wrestling with the employee and receiving a bruised cheek, the suspect threw down the cigarettes, saying “here then.”
Illegal dumping
A white truck dumped about 20 bags of trash and numerous construction debris at the Hillside Village Apartments on Benson Road.
A tenant saw an older man dumping the trash Jan. 9. The old truck didn’t belong to any of the tenants.
Bistro burglary
Two nights after the Asian Blossom Bistro was burglarized, someone attempted to break in without success.
A lock to the rear patio was broken and there were several pry marks on the rear door Jan. 12.
The fence and the door had both been repaired.
Stolen tires
Someone stole about 40 used tires from Discount Tire on Northeast Fourth Street Jan. 11.
They were estimated to be worth about $3,000.
The manager told police that prior to the theft, there was an ongoing issue of tires being stole for the past three months. He never reported it, because the losses were minor.
The tires were stored in a fenced area with barbed wire; however, one of the gates wasn’t locked.
Drunken driver
A driver was so drunk that he didn’t notice a police officer yelling and banging on his door window in the intersection of Southwest 43rd Street and East Valley Road Jan. 16.
The officer saw the man was driving poorly, before activating his lights. The man didn’t pull over, so the officer turned on his siren.
The man continued until he came to a red light. The officer exited his vehicle and yelled at the driver’s window, but the suspect didn’t turn to look.
The light turned green, and the man began driving away. The officer smacked the rear window with his flashlight.
Running back to his parked car, the officer pursued the man farther. The suspect eventually pulled over at a residence, asking the officer “What did I do?”
The suspect was so intoxicated the officer could smell alcohol 6 to 10 feet away.
Public urinating
A man was cited after a police officer witnessed him urinating on the Blockbuster Video on Rainier Avenue North Jan. 8.
Vending machine theft
Someone broke into a vending machine at a laundry mat on the 17900 block of 108th Avenue Southeast.
The lock appeared to be punched in with a screw driver, and about $300 was taken Jan. 5.
Windshield broken
A victim suspects school children are to blame for her broken windshield Jan. 9.
Nothing of value was taken from the vehicle parked on the 200 block of Shattuck Avenue South.
The victim often sees the children looking into car windows as they pass.
Bike robbery
A teen was robbed of his bike at the Renton Skate Park on Bronson Way Jan. 9.
A man in his early 20s asked to borrow the victim’s bike. After the victim refused the suspect three times, the suspect pushed him away and road away with the bike.
The red bike with red rims was worth about $500.
