A man on a motorcycle eluded police, causing a Renton police officer to chase him to Kirkland before losing sight of the suspect.
An officer first noticed the motorcycle making dangerous maneuvers at about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 400 block of Main Avenue South, when he signaled for the driver to stop.
Acting like he was going to stop, the man then accelerated near South Third Street and up Houser Way going speeds over 50 mph.
The officer suspected the motorcycle was stolen, as there weren’t any keys in the ignition.
Washington State Patrol joined up with the two Renton patrol cars at Highway 520, before all pursuing police lost contact with the vehicle around the Northeast 70th Street exit in Kirkland.
Renton officers reached speeds of 100 mph.

The 23-year-old came home to find them missing Aug. 2 around 8 p.m.
The victim pointed police to a window where the burglar came through, saying she always locks it. The front door was locked when she came home, as well as the sliding glass door.
Police didn’t know how the burglars got the TV out of the house, as all the doors were locked.
Dramatic breakup
When a girl decided to break up with a guy she’d been seeing for a month, he pulled out pepper spray on her and chased her with a bottle of vodka on the 1300 block of North Third Street.
When the man pulled out the pepper spray from under his trench coat, she thought he was going to pull out his knife with a cat face on the handle, and fled in her cousin’s friend’s car Aug. 6.
A knife with the head of a seal on the handle was found on a nearby street.
