POLICE BLOTTER: RTC student sexually assaulted in parking lot

A Renton Technical College student fought off a man in the school parking lot, after he sexually assaulted her.

The student was putting books in her car when she felt someone grab her buttocks around 11 a.m. Oct. 6.

She turned around, and the man, described as 6-foot-2, 140 pounds with brown hair and bulgy eyes, made derogatory sexual remarks to her.

He then reached out and touched her breast.

She grabbed the man’s head and pulled it toward the ground. She tried to hit his face with her knee but missed and his face hit her thigh.

The suspect then tried to grab the front of her pants, but she punched him on the left side of his face, leaving a small cut.

She got in her vehicle and drove away.

The student didn’t initially report the incident, but an instructor heard about it the next day, and she was persuaded to report the incident.

Suspended license, marijuana

Police discovered a man had marijuana stored in his glove box, when they pulled him over for a suspended license Oct. 8.

The officer knew the driver’s license was suspended when he pulled him over on the 16700 block of 116th Avenue Southeast.

When the officer asked for proof of registration and insurance, the man opened the glove box and then quickly slammed it shut.

The officer saw a multi-colored marijuana pipe, which lead to the discovery of the marijuana.

Drunk sleeps, rages on bus

A drunken man refused to get off a Metro bus, after the driver attempted to wake him Oct. 8 at the Renton Transit Center.

Holding a bottle of liquor in a paper bag, he swore at the police, who asked him to leave the bus.

While struggling with police who arrested him, his face was scuffed up.

Police were eager to remove him from the area because of his “physically combative actions and loud swearing.”

Runaway found, arrested

Police found a runaway with his girlfriend, after he illegally parked at the Renton Transit Center Oct. 2.

The boy’s license had been suspended, and a strong smell of marijuana came from the car.

Police found a bag with a green leafy residue, and the boy admitted to smoking marijuana in the car the night before.

Rifle stolen

When a man arrived at his home on the 500 block of Morris Avenue South at 4 p.m. to find he had been burglarized Sept. 23.

The kitchen window was left open and plants were knocked over.

He found the back door unlocked, but police couldn’t find any prints.

A $350 laptop, $80 of quarters and his lever action .45-caliber rifle were missing.

Armed home robbery

A woman was robbed at her apartment on the 500 block of Stevens Avenue Southwest, Sept. 15.

Two young men were standing inside the complex when she tried to get upstairs to her apartment with a bag of groceries in her arm.

The men immediately covered their faces, one with a bandana and another with a hoody.

She then began to climb the stairs to her place, when another young man approached her with what appeared to be a revolver, demanding her purse and wallet.

Then all three men ran from the complex.

Boy slaps around girl

A man on the 3000 block of Northeast Fifteenth Street slapped around his girlfriend of four months Sept. 22.

A neighbor reported loud yelling and slapping noises to police. The woman said there were about seven other incidences in which her boyfriend slapped her around but she hadn’t reported any of them.

The boyfriend yelled at police and the woman, who appeared afraid of him.

Police arrested him for domestic violence assault in the fourth degree.

Church car prowl

A man in his early 20s was seen breaking into multiple cars at the Ukrainian Christian Center at 221 Hardie Ave. N.W. Sept. 27.

A neighbor reported the incident, while owners were still attending church.

Police searched but didn’t find the suspect.
