Police release sketch of home invasion suspect

The suspect entered through a sliding glass door of the victims' home and then brutally attacked the elderly couple inside, leaving them with serious head injuries.

Renton Police have released a sketch of an individual wanted for a home invasion and assault that left two 86-year old man and his 74-year old wife hospitalized with serious head injuries.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charging of the suspect.

The suspect entered the victims’ residence in the 4000 block of Wells Avenue North at about 8:40 p.m. Jan. 24. The suspect entered through a sliding glass door and then brutally attacked the elderly couple inside, leaving them with serious head injuries.

He also ransacked the house, taking the couple’s belongings.  A K9 track and extensive search by patrol officers did not locate the suspect.

A person of interest seen in the immediate area is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, 35-45 years old, wearing light grey sweatpants and a matching light grey sweatshirt with a white t-shirt underneath.  His hair is described as mostly dark with some grey, short on the sides and pulled back on the top into a short ponytail high on the back of his head.  He had no facial hair at the time of the attack.

The victims suffered significant head injuries, including skull fractures.  The woman also suffered an injury to her hand.
