Two new people recently joined Renton Area Youth and Family Services Board of Directors. They are Sara Barbee and Marilyn Sullivan.
Barbee has a master’s degree in early childhood education. She taught preschool before becoming an integrated kindergarten teacher in the Renton School District.
Sullivan has been involved in many of Renton’s civic and charitable activities during the past 20 years, including annually supporting the Rotary Club of Renton CAPER Auction. She has been a mentor for Communities in Schools of Renton for the past four years.
Renton Area Youth and Family Services also recently received a $2,000 “Thank You” grant from Boeing Employees Community Fund. Boeing employees are invited to nominate an agency that touched their lives and helped them or a loved one through a difficult time. RAYS is one of 20 agencies chosen to receive a “Thank You” grant this year.
