The Renton Ecumenical Association of Churches (REACH) will host its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at Luther’s Table this year.
The dinner is free, open to the public and at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Thanksgiving Day.
“Anybody that doesn’t have any place to go, it’s always fun to be invited someplace on Thanksgiving,” said Sally Cumming, REACH member about who is welcome to attend the dinner.
The organization is expecting 50 to 100 people to turn out. Last year cold snowy weather only produced about 40 attendees to the dinner at St. Anthony’s.
REACH had an overwhelming interest from people interested in volunteering for the event. There will be 15 volunteers staffing the dinner.
The standard Thanksgiving fixings will be served: turkey, potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, green salad and an assortment of pies.
Cumming said REACH does need volunteers for their homeless men’s program, the Area of Renton Interfaith Shelter Endeavor or ARISE.
Donations for the Thanksgiving dinner came from the 24 churches that make up REACH.
