Starting in February, classes for the Renton Emergency Preparedness Academy will be held at the Renton Technical College.
In partnership with the college and Renton Emergency Management, the academy provides courses to help people better prepare for emergencies and disasters. The schedule of classes includes:“Surviving Mass Violence” on Thursday, Feb. 2
“Amateur Radio (Ham) Licensing Class” on Saturday, Feb. 4 and Sunday, Feb. 5
“De-Escalation in the Workplace” on Wednesday, Feb. 8
“Preparacion Contra Desastres En Español” on Friday, March 3
“Women’s Personal Safety” on Wednesday, March 15
All classes are free except for the Ham Radio class on Feb. 4 and Feb. 5, which includes a book, testing and licensing fee.
