The following information was compiled from City of Renton police reports:
When a man sent a former gang member to bring his rifle to show it off to his friends and neighbors, his .45-caliber handgun disappeared.
He didn’t notice the handgun was missing until the next day, when he saw the case was unlocked on the 500 block of Bronson Way Northeast April 30.
He heard a rumor that the gang member had recently sold a gun, but no one saw the weapon or a transaction.
Police contacted the mother of the person of interest, who said her son might have taken it.
The son was a member of God’s Gang, which is made of people with “checkered pasts” who’ve found God and try to live righteously.
Man passes out drunk on Morris Avenue
Police found a man passed out drunk on the 200 block of Morris Avenue South 11:23 p.m., April 26.
The man had a cut to the back of his head and couldn’t coherently answer the officer’s questions. He was unable to sit up.
The officer had him sent to the Valley Medical Center for involuntary committal.
Belligerent drunk overturns furniture
When a boyfriend got so belligerently drunk that he began to overturn furniture, his seven-month pregnant girlfriend called police April 27 at about 5 a.m.
She let her boyfriend into her home against her better judgment, she told police. He invited friends over and they began to play loud music and drink, until she kicked the friends out.
She had a 7-year-old son who was trying to sleep. The boyfriend then pushed her in anger, but she said she didn’t feel threatened or abused.
The officers arrested the man for disorderly conduct on the 12200 block of Southeast Petrovitsky Road.
Espresso burglary
Someone broke into the Expresso Daviso stand at 451 S.W. 10th St., but only took two rolls of pennies and a 50 cent piece.
The thieves did however break the lock off the door April 28.
Stolen revolver replaced with rock
A man’s Ruger revolver was stolen from its case and replaced with a rock on the 200 block of Pelly Avenue North April 28.
The man had work crews at his house for a few weeks and suspected it was one of the workers. He didn’t have a serial number for the pistol.
Stolen stereo
A man’s stereo and about 10 CDs were stolen from his 1994 Ford Ranger on the 1100 block of Edmonds Ave. N.E., April 27.
A few days before, the Ranger’s back window had been broken out. He replaced it with cardboard. Later the cardboard was then cut away and the stereo taken.
Car theft in doctor’s garage at VMC
A window was smashed in and GPS stolen from a 2005 Infiniti at the Valley Medical Center doctor’s parking garage April 26.
Another car in the garage was also broken into.
Car theft
A 2008 black Toyota Scion was broken into through the rear passenger-side window on the 500 block of Monroe Avenue Northeast April 23.
A pair of designed glasses and a blow dryer were among the items stolen.
