The following information was compiled from City of Renton Police Reports:
A man and his mother were robbed of a used microwave as they tried to donate it to the Salvation Army on 221 Morris Avenue South May 9.
When the suspect grabbed for the microwave, the 22-year-old son held on, until he was punched in the stomach.
He backed off, and the suspect drove away with his booty in a 1992 Pontiac Sunfire.
Stolen copper wire from city
Copper wire was stolen from an under ground conduit on the 3600 block of Maple Valley Highway May 13.
The wire powered city-owned street lights.
Gunpoint robbery at pizza joint
The Pizza Time on 2000 Benson Road South was robbed by a man with a gun April 30 at about 9 p.m.
An employee was counting money at the front counter when the man, who pulled a jacket over the bottom half of his face, ran in the front door.
The suspect said “get back!” several times, before grabbing about $65 in cash and running south of the building.
Pizza Time didn’t have surveillance cameras and the Circle Foods next door didn’t have a clear view of the restaurant.
Robber gets knocked out
A man was jumped by someone wearing a black face mask after he got off the bus at Albertsons on the 4700 block of Northeast 4th Street May 3 at about 3:30 p.m.
The suspect punched the man in the face and reached for his wallet.
Before the suspect got the wallet, the victim punched him in the jaw and ran away. He looked behind to see the suspect laying on the ground.
Stolen mail
A man accused his neighbor of pulling up to his mailbox and stealing his outgoing mail, including a check written to the Department of Licensing and a $20 cash for donation on the 1000 block of Union Avenue Northeast, May 3.
Car break-in
A purse and motorcycle helmet were stolen from a Lexus parked on the 1700 block of Northeast 44th Street April 15.
The thieves tried to use a credit card at a nearby McDonalds, but it was denied.
Fight
One man struck another with a jack knife after an argument over how one was speaking to his mother April 27 at 1105 Sunset Blvd. N.E.
Police initially arrested a man who they thought initiated the fight, but later testimony from a witness made them reconsider the decision.
No one was arrested, and police continued to look for more witnesses.
