RENTON BLOTTER: Thieves hit antique store four times

The following information was compiled from City of Renton police reports:

Thieves have stolen valuables from an antique shop four times in the past two months in the 900 block of South Third Street.

The owner suspects the same people are responsible for at least three of the incidents, because they have keys to the display cases.

Antique gold rings, assorted precious stones and silver forks were among the items reported missing.

Stolen bike

A man’s Black Diamond bicycle was stolen from a bike rack in front of the Safeway at 200 S. Third St. Sept. 16.

The bike was locked to the rack.

Police requested the surveillance video but couldn’t collect other evidence because the high level of traffic.

Burglary

A couple’s home was ransacked and burglarized after a suspect slid open a window to enter it Sept. 16.

Spare keys to their cars, electronics and jewelry were all taken from the home on the 100 block of Pelly Avenue North.

The following information was compiled from King County Sheriff’s reports:

Home burglary

A couple’s home was burglarized and car stolen when they were on vacation in Hawaii Sept. 22.

Their neighbor called them during the trip, and helped deputies file a report.

Thieves took the couple’s 2005 Honda Pilot, flat screen TV and computer system, but they left nine rifles untouched on the 15200 block of Southeast 179th Street, Fairwood.

The suspects broke the kitchen window to gain entry to the house.

Anti-cop graffiti

Police spoke with an attorney they referred to as paranoid after he spray-painted anti-police statements on a commercial building he owns on the 13900 block of Southeast Petrovitsky Road, Fairwood.

The man brought his 16-year-old son along when he graffitied his own building Sept. 23.

The son explained to the deputy his father was upset about a police shooting in Seattle and his dog dying.

The statements read “Cops Kill,” “WSP=Killers” and “RIP.”

There wasn’t a crime committed, but the report was filed to caution other officers.
