Renton Academy will celebrate its third graduation Thursday. Two high school students will graduate from the Renton School District school in Newcastle.
One fifth grader and five eighth graders will also graduate, or receive promotions, from the elementary and middle school sections of the kindergarten through 12th grade school.
That’s all big news for the 40-student school that serves students who need help managing their behavior.
Renton Academy Director Lisa Hoyt describes Renton Academy as a “therapeutic program for kids who are working on developing behavioral skills.” The school opened in 2006.
This year’s two high school graduates are only the second and third high schoolers to graduate from Renton Academy.
An open house, dinner and party will also be held Thursday night at Renton Academy.
