Today is your last chance to bid on items at the Renton Community Foundation’s “super silent” online auction and there are last-minute deal you may not want to miss.

The reserve has been lowered on a pair of Seahawks tickets to watch the Hawks take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers No. 3. According to an email from the Foundation, tickets for section CHR109 for the game are going for $300 each, but the Foundation has lowered its reserve price to $375 for both tickets.

The Foundation has also lowered the bid to $150 on the Phil & Ted’s inline stroller.

And, as always, you can also make a donation of cash to the organization.

But the auction ends at midnight tonight, Friday.

Funds raised will be used to support operations at the foundation, which relies solely on administrative fees.

According to Lynn Bohart, Executive Director, those fees are not enough.

“Most community foundations have found that administrative fees don’t cover all expenses,” she said in a press release. “If they did, we’d have to raise them so high that less people would establish charitable funds.”

To make up the difference, the board each year conducts a campaign and stages an online auction.

“The good thing with this auction is that you don’t have to dress up, get a babysitter, or even get into the car. You can participate right from your own home,” Auction Chair Rich Wagner said.

This year foundation board members have invited individuals to sit at ‘virtual’ tables. In return, the guest promises to visit the website at least once during the auction. When they do, their name will be entered into a drawing.

If they bid on something, their name will be entered into a bigger drawing for each time they bid.

“We wanted to have some fun with this,” Wagner says. “It’s all about developing relationships and letting people know what the Foundation does for the community and how we act as a resource for charitable giving.”
